WHAT WE DO
What changes once we’re involved.
Most people don’t come to us knowing what they need. They come because the Wi-Fi drops in the back room, the files live on a drive nobody trusts, or the person who set it all up moved on. Here’s what changes, and the work underneath it.
PRIMARY PRACTICE
A network the whole business can lean on
Staff connect and stay connected. Guests get online without getting near your business data. Card terminals, cameras and door locks each sit where they belong. From one office to several locations, we design it, install it and keep it running, so it stays out of your way.
CERTIFIED: two Ubiquiti certifications, plus standing as a UniFi certified installer and support provider.
DESIGN — A written plan you keep, with coverage, capacity and hardware chosen for your space. Not a cart of parts.
SWITCHING — Solid wiring and switching underneath: UniFi routing, PoE budgeting, link aggregation, clean cable termination.
SEGMENTATION — Staff, guests, payments, phones and smart devices each kept in their own lane, including PCI-aware separation for card terminals.
WIRELESS — Coverage you can walk the whole building with. AP placement, channel and power planning, roaming, and testing after install.
SECURITY — Outsiders kept out, and remote access that’s safe. Firewall rules, VPN, isolation policies, firmware kept current.
PROTECT — Cameras that record what you need and alert you only when it matters. Placement, storage sizing, retention.
ACCESS — Doors that open for the right people and tell you when they shouldn’t. UniFi Access and entry alarms, tied into what’s already there.
MULTI-SITE — Several locations that behave like one. Site-to-site links, a single console, consistent documentation.
SUPPORT — Problems caught before you notice them. Monitoring, alerts, scheduled maintenance, and someone who already knows your setup.
CO-EQUAL PRACTICE
Your work, kept safe and within reach
What’s on your storage isn’t just data. It’s years of drawings, client files, photographs you can’t take again. We treat it that way: sized right, organized so people can find things, backed up automatically, and restores actually tested.
PARTNER: Synology refers prospective clients to Brightstone directly.
SIZING — Room to grow without surprises. Capacity and performance planning, and a frank read on which drives belong in the bays.
INSTALL — Set up and documented so anyone can pick it up. DSM configuration and network integration.
STRUCTURE — People find what they need, and only what they should. Folder and permission design that holds up as staff change.
BACKUP — Mistakes undone in minutes. Snapshots, versioning, Active Backup and Hyper Backup, with restores verified.
OFFSITE — A fire or a theft becomes an inconvenience, not an ending. Replication to a second site or the cloud.
RECOVERY — Your files rescued from failing or outgrown storage, including older and mixed-vendor gear.
CO-EQUAL PRACTICE
Macs, iPhones and iPads that just work
Your people should be doing their work, not fighting their machines. We’ve supported Apple since 1990: setting things up, moving people to new machines, fixing what breaks, and making it all work with the network and storage behind it.
DEPLOYMENT — New machines ready on day one, moved over without losing what people care about.
HELP DESK — Someone to call, by phone, remote session, or on site in the Portland area.
HARDWARE — Repairs and diagnostics, including vintage Macs most shops turn away.
INTEGRATION — Macs, phones and shared storage behaving as one system instead of three.
MOVES — Moving offices? Network, storage and machines working on day one.
RUNNING UNDERNEATH ALL THREE
Someone watching, so you don’t have to
Problems handled before they reach you — Devices, uptime and storage health watched around the clock, so most issues are fixed before anyone files a ticket.
Nothing lives only in one person’s head — Every site has a current record of what’s installed, how it’s set up, and why.
Upkeep on a calendar, not a crisis — Firmware, backups and certificates handled on schedule.
You always know who to call — The person who designed your system is the person who picks up.
